40/100 Guardia Nazi-onal
One of the primary responsibilities of the National (Nazi-onal) Guard of Venezuela is to protect and serve the country and its people. However, in support and instruction by President Nicolás Maduro, the national guard has inflicted violence as a means to stop peaceful protesters. Their duties of protecting the nations people has failed drastically as it is this same organization that has spilled blood on the streets of Venezuela.
This is why Venezuelans call them the “nazional guard”, because of the amount of innocent people they have killed, tortured and imprisoned, just like the nazis.

26/100 Censorship
Shirley Varnagy is a journalist from Venezuela, known for her show “ #SHIRLEY ”, where she interviewed national and international personalities from the cultural, sporting, economic and political spheres. This past wednesday, after her last episode aired in Globovision (a Venezuelan private broadcasting channel), she resigned after the interview with Mario Vargas Llosa** was censored by the channel.
Varnagy said on her personal twitter account: “Yesterday the full interview I did to Vargas Llosa was not transmitted. I will not silence my space, as of today I no longer work for Globovision.” For many years, going back to Chavez’ mandate, Venezuela has experienced media censorship. As a way to control public knowledge, and too manipulate people’s beliefs, the government has imposed regulations which limits broadcasting companies the subjects these entities are able to air. Strategically, the government has also used these restrictions to protect itself from any news that could hurt the current mandate. Broadcasting companies that go against these rulings are heavily fined and sometimes even ordered to close, such as RCTV. **Mario Vargas Llosa: Peruvian writer, politician, journalist, essayist, college professor, and recipient of the 2010 Nobel Prize in Literature. Recently accused President Maduro of trying to install a Cuban-Inspired dictatorship in Venezuela.

27/100 Resistance Camp Alfredo Sadel
Venezuelan’s are turning to more creative ways to vent their frustration with Nicolas Maduro’s socialist government. Students, who are continuously protesting, are now taking over the streets of Venezuela to the extent that they have built camp sites in areas all over the country. Today, the Alfredo Sadel Plaza strategically located in front of the United Nations headquarters, is one of the sites where more than 200 students are currently living in tents, establishing this park as a “protesters” home base.
Students are vocal with their protests, and are trying to make their voice heard in Venezuela as well as the rest of the world. A student from Universidad Central de Venezuela said: “We want to unite Venezuelans with students who are in this fight”. Another mentioned “We want a UN commission to come and see the human right abuses that are happening”.
Maduro’s National Guard and Poliburata (police department of Baruta) are not taking these protests lightly. Recently, Polibaruta deployed a violent operation to evict all student protesters living in the tents at Plaza Alfredo Sadel. This caused an altercation between the students that were pacifically protesting and the police, leaving wounded victims and landing one of the students in jail.

28/100 Running on Empty
PDVSA (Petróleos de Venezuela) is a Venezuelan state-owned oil and natural gas company. Its services extend to exploration, production, refining and exporting oil, as well as exploration and production of natural gas. PDVSA is the only company in the country that distributes and offers gasoline to Venezuelans.
In 2006, PDVSA’s directors, gave workers a choice to either support President Hugo Chávez, or lose their jobs. This changed the company’s image and values. As Rafael Ramírez, the energy minister of Venezuela, said: ”PDVSA is red. Red from top to bottom”, referring to the color used to identify Chavez’s political party. PDVSA continues to hire only supporters of the president, and PDVSA revenue is used to fund political projects.
Recently PDVSA service stations are experiencing fuel shortages all over the country. The main reason being that distribution carriers are complaining about insecurity experienced by the drivers when going through obstruction on the roads built by protesters.

29/100 Lilian Tintori
Today’s post is in honor of a Venezuelan broadcaster, life coach, marathon runner, mother and wife of Venezuela’s protester leader Leopoldo Lopez. A strong and admirable woman that has carried her husband’s role, since he was captured on February 18, 2014. This post is in your honor @liliantintori .
Lilian Tintori has gone through the pain, danger, and responsibility of leading the opposition against Maduro’s mandate, and she has done this while raising two children, and looking out for her husband, Leopoldo Lopez, who is currently being held prisoner in Venezuela’s Ramo Verde jail. Throughout all of her struggles, Lilian has become a symbol of freedom, human rights fighter, and stands for everything that the opposition fights for. Her will to fight has inspired Venezuelans to keep pushing the government, now stronger than ever.
Today is your birthday Lilian, we are praying for Leoplodo, for you to get your family back together, and that you continue leading this fight with all the energy and courage you have shown so far. As you once said, “I married Leopoldo, but I also married Venezuela”. We too are married to Venezuela, and we stand behind you, now and forever.

Its official name is “Revolutionary Movement Tupamaro” (MRT), but commonly known as the Tupamaros. This is an organized armed troop, which dates back to the attempted coup of Hugo Chavez against the government of Carlos Andrés Pérez in 1992. Since then, the members of this troop have served the interests of Chavez and now Maduro. The modus operandi is going around in motorcycles and balaclavas to protect their identities.
Today, the MRT convened a demonstration that promised to occupy the capital of Venezuela. Their primary goal is to prove that they are a “peaceful” organization and to deliver a document to the Attorney General that rejects fascism and states their support to the illegitimate president Nicolás Maduro.

The protests against the socialist government of Venezuela led by Nicolás Maduro, began on February 4, 2014 in the city of San Cristóbal, Táchira, as a result of insecurity, high inflation and commodity shortages.
Aside from ordering the national guard to constantly attack the students that protest in Táchira, Maduro recently announced in his national broadcast that he wants an arrest warrant for Yobél Sandoval, the mayor of Junin and Simon Vargas, the mayor of Bolivar. At the same time, he named Fredy Bernal, a Chavismo supporter, as the interim mayor.

100dayprojectvenezuela:

38/100 100 Days
Today we sadly recognize that it has been 100 days since the student protests began in Venezuela.
As a mechanism of protest and defense, Venezuelans that support the opposition have had the need to create barricades around the city known as “guarimbas” (please refer for more information to post #30). These barricades are normally lit on fire to cause more distraction.
During the first week of March, the illegitimate president Nicolás Maduro threatened Venezuelans in a national broadcast saying “Candelita que se prenda, candelita que se apaga”, which means “fire that is turned on, fire that we will turn off”, referring not only to the guarimbas, but also the fire within the student protestors, especially the students of Universidad Central de Venezuela.
Above is the school crest of the Universidad Central de Venezuela with its flame still lit, and nothing and no one can turn this flame off.
