43/100 Cacerolazo
“Cacerolazo” is a form of popular protest practiced in certain Spanish-speaking countries – in particular Venezuela, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Uruguay, Spain. It basically consists in a group of people creating noise by banging pots, pans, and other utensils in order to call for attention. What is peculiar about this type of demonstration is that people can protest from their own homes, thus achieving a high level of support and participation.
Today, it is planned that at 8 PM all Venezuelans join in another Cacerolazo (from their homes) all over the country to protest against the government.

45/100 I crawled for my country (Yo gateé por mi país).
Today I dedicate my post to the brave student Juan David, who is currently in recovery from a gunshot wound given to him by the police.
“I was mediating with the police while they where trying to place handcuffs on me, I then ran from them and got shot in the back. I fell down, and when he approached me to shoot again, the policemen ran out of bullets. I crawled for my country. I want a better country. I didn’t let them take me away from Venezuela.” Juan David Cabrera.

The employees of the Venezuelan postal delivery service Ipostel have declared that they are now on national strike, demanding the government better salaries. Protesters took to the facilities and paralyzed the input and output of correspondence. There are about 25 tons of letters in these offices which are retained because of the situation.
The logo above is very similar to what it currently looks like. The only thing changed is the actual tagline. It would normally say “Revolucionando el correo”, meaning it is revolutionizing correspondence, but in the image it is changed to represent the workers by making it read “Paralizando el correo”, meaning that it is stopping correspondence.

46/100 Water Rations
The Venezuelan government rations water again in multiple cities of the country. The emergency plan, according to the government, can leave 6 million Venezuelans without water for three days a week and has been implemented to counter the drought caused by the country’s dry season.
While the drought is beyond the government’s control, the opposition has argued that the socialist government is to blame, because during the 15 years of the socialist party’s rule, there have been no water reservoirs built to counteract the dry season and potential droughts. (Latin Times)
Sadly water is becoming harder and harder to find, but blood still runs through our streets because of the government.

“Venezuelans, have less and less options to travel abroad. Ticket prices are on the rise; airlines are selling tickets with only a 30-day anticipation period, which limits the period of time for requesting foreign exchange from the Foreign Exchange Administration Commission. Iván Simonovis is a former police chief whose decade-long imprisonment has been taken up as a cause by Venezuela’s opposition said in a letter made public Tuesday that he is going on a hunger strike to demand his release. He is currently serving a 30-year sentence for aggravated murder related to his role in the death of pro-government protesters who rushed to the defense of then-President Hugo Chavez in a failed 2002 coup.
The 53-year-old Simonovis said in a letter released by lawyers that he is tired of waiting for Venezuela’s justice system. He said that against the wishes of his family and despite his ill health, he will refuse to eat until he receives an answer to his lawyers’ petition for a conditional release based on humanitarian grounds.

Venezuelans have been forced for about five years to get used to living without electricity.
The government recently announced that they will start to ration more the electricity in the State of Zulia in order to reduce demand on the Venezuelan deteriorated electrical system.
Venezuela’s energy crisis dates back to 2009 when the country experienced a marked deficit in power generation. This was due to a drought in the reservoir of the hydroelectric Simon Bolivar. This came during a new occurrence of the weather phenomenon known as “El Niño”. Although the government took several measures to overcome the crisis, one of the most controversial was the implementation of a program of electricity rationing across the country, leaving many Venezuelans without electricity almost every single day.

54/100 Maduro isn’t “the people”.

After being just one year in office, “President” Nicolas Maduro launched a campaign, with the slogan “Maduro is people”, amid a wave of anti-government protests, which began in February and that have left more than 40 dead and 700 wounded. The goal of this campaign was to strengthen his image amongst Venezuelans.
—

Faced with a reality marked by protests, death, scarcity, inflation, insecurity and serious questions about justice and freedom, the government decided to make use of a trick that worked for them in the past, a formula that is used when a president’s popularity is affected: make him appear closer to the people.
The opposition decided to use this campaign and provide the actual truth to Venezuelans. In this case above, its rewording his name to Maburro, hinting at his ignorance, and his tagline to read that he isn’t one of the people, to remind civilians that he has been performing acts against Venezuelans on a daily basis.

López, the 43-year-old Harvard-educated former mayor of Chacao, has been jailed since turning himself over to government forces to avoid collateral damage after a speech to thousands of supporters on February 18, 2014. He was charged by the government of President Nicholas Maduro with inciting violence but maintains his innocence and the government has yet to provide any proof.
Founder of his own Popular Will Party (Voluntad Popular), Leopoldo López is one of the three main leaders of the Opposition, along with former presidential candidate Henrique Capriles Radonski, and Congresswoman María Corina Machado.
